Young adults more vulnerable to sexual harassment

A topic that continually surfaces with disconcerting frequency is sexual harassment. It's a pervasive issue that disproportionately impacts younger adults.

While workplaces,  universities and colleges should ideally be environments that foster growth and innovation, for many young adults, the reality can be starkly different.

Recent studies have spotlighted a concerning trend: younger adults, particularly those between the ages of 16 and 30, are often more vulnerable to instances of sexual harassment. Several factors can contribute to this heightened vulnerability:

To safeguard our younger generation, workplaces should preventative measures:

• Education and Training: Regular training sessions should be conducted to educate employees on what constitutes sexual harassment, its effects, and how to report it.

• Open Communication Channels: Institutions should encourage open dialogue, ensuring that younger employees feel safe when discussing their concerns without fear of retaliation.
